DEI Learning Group

Find your local community of practice…

This program is designed to provide a mutual learning space for white women who are looking to deepen their awareness and practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

We are all on our own individual journeys around diversity, equity, and inclusion, in addition to work we may be completing with our organizations, families, and volunteer associations. It’s easy to get frustrated and give up on the journey if you don’t see changes in yourself very quickly. This program is about creating a space to practice new ways of living with a DEI lens and building a support network that spans across the different parts of your life.

The program brings together up to 20 participants with similar interests where we build knowledge, mentor each other, and practice new ways of living together. All sessions are facilitated by Sally Loftis, Managing Director at Loftis Partners. This program offers a hybrid learning environment that includes:

  • One full-day, in-person session - October 12, 2023, 9:00am-4:00pm (refreshments provided, accommodations available)

  • Two 90-minute virtual group sessions - October 26 and November 9 (both happen 12:00pm-1:30pm ET)

We will start the in-person session with connection and then use the Cycle of Socialization to excavate our hidden biases and the Cycle of Liberation (both by Bobbie Harro) to change our behaviors and show up differently in our relationships. We will also learn how we hold power, influence, and gatekeeping responsibilities within our lives. The virtual coaching sessions will allow us to connect and go deeper in our learning and everyday practices.

The in-person session will take place at the Davis Center on the Crossnore Communities for Children campus, 1001 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC. Virtual sessions will take place on Zoom. If you are unable to attend one of the Zoom sessions, please let us know so we can offer an alternative date & time. All sessions are designed to prioritize connection, offer safe learning spaces, and build sustainable practices.

We have two ways to sign up. In both forms, you will be asked some questions that help us build custom sessions for you.
